How-To enable self-registration
Introduction
Whenever you would like to give your users the option to self-register, you have to configure an appropriate application configuration for the appropriate application. This how-to describes how to enable the self-registration for an application.
Step 1 - Make sure the self-registration feature on the client is enabled
You can enable and disable the registration feature on the client level. So please ensure that all appropriate clients of your application that shall support the self-registration feature have the Allow self-registration
feature turned on the client configuration.
Step 2 - Add the application configuration
In the SSO menu of the CoreOne Admin UI you can add an appropriate configuration in the application configuration menu. You have to specify the Core Identity type, the appropriate target system of the application and an Identity type which will indicate exactly what type of identity should be provisioned for new users.
Step 3 - Add attributes
By default all mandatory attributes of the selected Core Identity type will be added to the attribute tab. This means, users have to fill out those attributes while registering. If you would add any otherwise not mandatory field to the registration form, simply add them with the Add
button.
Step 4 - Make sure the cross system configuration is configured
In an ordinary use case you will not provision users for each target system or application but rather reuse one identity type for all. To do so, go to the appropriate target system - usually the CoreOne Suite itself - and add the appropriate cross system configuration by clicking the Add
button and selecting you target system / application.
