Introduction
The organization unit type defines the set of attributes that are available to a specific type.
Organization unit object type
Version < 7
Up to version 6 the organization unit type simply defined the attributes of given type. Additionally there is a distinction between an organizational unit and a position but that information is stored on the organization unit.
Version >= 7
Starting with version 7 there is also an organization unit object type that can be used to identify the type as one of three object types:
Organization Unit Object Type | Description | Comment |
---|---|---|
| A legal entity can represents an organizations legal object | Role and resource assignment are passed down the tree structure |
| A legal entity represents a department or other organizational structure | Role and resource assignment are passed down the tree structure |
| A position is an object where someone can be employed to | Role and resource assignment are not passed down the tree structure |
Attribute Mappings
You can assign attributes to an organization unit type and configure mappings that reference other attributes. If an attribute is not present on the current object, the value will be resolved upwards along the current organizational unit structure.
