Release Roadmap

Introduction

We are continuously developing and enhancing the CoreOne Suite, with a commitment to transparency in our product roadmap. This page provides an overview of the latest information on upcoming releases, how you can share feedback, insights into our structured release cycle, and a high-level view of planned features. Our goal is to keep you informed and engaged as we evolve the CoreOne Suite to better meet your needs.

Release Cycle

Major Versions

We publish four major releases each year, scheduled for February, April, July, and October. Each release includes new features, enhancements, security updates, and bug fixes, as well as customer-requested features (Feature Requests). This regular release cadence allows us to continuously improve the CoreOne Suite and incorporate valuable feedback from our customers.

Each development cycle comprises a planning, implementation, and a comprehensive testing phase. To ensure consistent quality, all feature requests go through these stages, so delivery may take several months. Understanding this process helps set realistic expectations for the integration of requested features.

Minor Version

Should there be any issues, urgent bugs or security threats, we will publish a minor version for all supported version outside of the regular release cyle.

What are the planned features?

The next major release will be version 10. We have already migrated most application parts to the latest .NET versions but the CoreOne Application Services are still based on .NET 4.8.1. This is mostly due to the fact, that the we wanted to grant our customers enough time to migrate from Legacy Workflow Engine to the Next Gen Workflow Engine. Since version 8, we have provided all Workflow Activities and all Workflow Entry Points in the Next Gen Workflow Engine so that smooth transition over the past two years was possible. With version 10 we finally will make the cut and upgrade to the lastest .NET version and therefore the Legacy Workflow Engine will no longer be available.

With the migration to the latest version of .NET, we will also add support for a containerized deployment among some other major changes to the overall architecture.

Apart from the .NET upgrade, we will add further features to the new Admin User Interface 2.0 to continue the modernization and to further improve customer experience and extend the cloud management capabilities for various cloud provides such as Azure.
