Introduction

The CoreOne Suite SAP System Connector can be used to either import data from SAP HCM / SAP OM to the CoreOne Suite Meta Directory or to provision users and their access rights into the SAP Eco System. This document focuses on the first part and gives a general overview over what SAP object is represented in which CoreOne Suite object.

SAP Organisation Management

In SAP a time based organizational tree is maintained. You can access that tree with transactions like ppome and browse through your organizational structure. While browsing through the structure you will notice that there are multiple type of objects. The boxes with an ID that starts with an O are organizational units. They usually represent departments and teams within an organization. On the other hand you have the two different human icons which are represented with an S in their ID. Those are called positions or Planstelle. Unlike in other HR system where you might employ someone on an organizational unit, in SAP the employment is created on the position.

SAP Human Capital Management

The employees of a company are then usually managed within the SAP Human Capital Management. You can search for an employee using the transaction PA20. Once you have selected a person you will see that the person consists of multiple records of a specific info type. Besides the obvious info types like Personal Data, there are a couple of other ones.

The employments are stored in the Organizational Assignment Info type. If you select such a record you will see that an organizational assignment consists of multiple relations, on of which being the relation to the organizational plan. In the example below Mr. Nitzsche is employed to the Position 5000039 but also has a Job Key assigned to him.
